The food was awful but there again what plane food isn't!
Date of Travel: Sep 2007 Flying from: Manchester Airport Flying to: Dalaman Airport Class: Economy Recommended: Yes Submitted By: Deborah Owen Comments: After reading recent reviews for Onur air we were a bit worried about the service that we would receive. We need not have worried. The flights departed just 10-20 minutes later than expected- the staff were both courteous and friendly, the food was the same as any other airline and included free soft drinks, whilst alcohol was certainly cheaper than most other airlines we have used.
The one and only downside was that there was no air conditioning and so it felt quite hot on the way out to Turkey-we had got used to the heat whilst in Turkey and so the heat did not seem such a problem on the return flight.
I would certainly travel with Onur air again.
Date of Travel: Aug 2007 Flying from: Manchester Airport Flying to: Antalya International Airport Class: Charter/Package Recommended: No Submitted By: Paul Johnson Comments: This airline should be avoided like the plague. Delays delays delays that is the biggest problem 12 hour delay with no reason given or even so much as an apology we were traveling with a young child , we weren't given any water until 5 hours in to the delay there was no where to sit in the airport. There is also a serious lack of communication between this airline and its passengers. Once boarded the staff didn't speak English and were quite rude at times. The plane was clean but there was only one toilet working on the whole plane, and the food was inedible it looked and tasted like kitty cat not that I eat cat food on a regular basis mind lol. Having talked to some other passengers with in the airport it would appear that Onur air have a very bad habit of canceling and delaying flights with no apparent reason given and no apology. Needless to say this airline lost a couple of hundred customers with these flights.

Date of Travel: Aug 2007 Flying from: Dalaman Airport Flying to: Manchester Airport Class: Charter/Package Recommended: No Submitted By: R Pritchard Comments: I have never heard of Onur air before my flight to and from turkey but I thought I would try them out as I booked my family holiday direct. I arrived at Dalaman airport at 01.00 on 27/08/07 for a 04.30 flight I asked on the check in desk if all was in order, "Oh yes sir the flight is on time according to our records". 04.30 came and went without any information from the airport staff or updates on the passenger information listings. We were delayed for 8 hrs with no explanation. This is the only airline I have ever been on were the captain has never said a word to the passengers both outward/inward flights. It will be my one and only flight with this company. The seats on the aircraft are awful with a very large lump in the base of your seat which sticks into your back rather than supports it. The food is awful, if you happen to travel with them buy something before boarding. I know the company are new to our shores but they need to switch on to how to treat us as customers

Food normal mass catering airline food did resent not having a choice when booking(told we had to have meal and pay for it ). Flight no better or worse than any other airline more leg room than most flights...return fight left 10mins late!! All in all good service from a cheap airline would use them again.
Date of Travel: Aug 2007 Flying from: Manchester Airport Flying to: Bodrum Airport Class: Economy Recommended: No Submitted By: Lynda Kelly Comments: We have just returned from Gumbet in Turkey and this is the first time we have used Onur Air but NEVER AGAIN! On the way out we were delayed for 3 hours at Manchester once on the plane, the service was very hurried and meal just about edible but ok. On our way home it was terrible, the food was disgusting, no in flight entertainment again, and it was far too hot for a flight of 4 hours.! I asked for a cold drink of water and one very rude flight attendant looked at me like I was asking for a bottle of champagne it was given to me with a shove and she didn't turn a hair. Everything was again rushed and we had to keep seatbelts on for 1 hour even though I didn't feel any turbulence at all I think they just wanted to keep us in our seats so they could stuff their faces behind the curtains! Don't use them and maybe we will get better service for all ok.
Date of Travel: Aug 2007 Flying from: Newcastle International Airport Flying to: Bodrum Airport Class: Charter/Package Recommended: Yes Submitted By: M. Murray Comments: We flew from Newcastle to Bodrum. As it's my first flight, I have nothing to compare it with. I was pleasantly surprised. We were given the extra leg room on the outward flight without requesting it. Very comfortable. The food was not to my taste but bits of it were ok. Soft drinks were brought when requested. Cabin crew responded quickly to the call buttons, and were polite. The return journey was not as comfortable. We were very tired and in the normal seats, I couldn't get comfortable (overtired I think as it was a very early flight). My children did not complain, they were quite happy, so I'm happy. We did land in Edinburgh instead of Newcastle, but the pilot did speak good English and kept us informed (problem at Newcastle airport and not with the flight itself). Very professional.
Date of Travel: Aug 2007 Flying from: Liverpool John Lennon Airport Flying to: Dalaman Airport Class: Economy Recommended: No Submitted By: Katrina Comments: Just got back from holiday after flying with Onur air...I too had read reviews and was nervous to say the least! We did Liverpool to Dalaman. Flight out was on time...the food wasn't great but I expected that. We hit some major turbulence which can't be helped...though people screaming when we hit it was a mite off putting. The landing I have to say was awful...how the plane stayed together was a miracle. I have used many airlines before and never experienced noise, rattling and a plane shaking...from the inside. Everyone cheered when we came to a stand still!
Had heard that there were delays with other flights before we returned... But ours was not affected...yeah right!
Arrived at 4am with 3 children for our 6am flight. Checked straight in. straight through passport control. Had something to eat and they called out gate number at 5am. Queued with 200+ others when I noticed the gate number had been removed from the screen. Then the 3 staff who had been about to check us through the gate turned the lights off and disappeared. at 5-30 the screen showed a 4 hour delay, with no reason...have since learned that it was due to the near drop out of the engine of our original plane.
We were given no news, no updates and no seats. People were lying where ever there was a clean spot on the floor.
We finally took off at 10 15, and have to say had great seating allocation! An air bus 300...front section row 5 for 5 of us...there were 11 of us at the front and over 40 seats! So the kids slept most of the journey.
We couldn't hear the safety video, couldn't hear the crew on the pa and couldn't hear the captain when he spoke...
The food was better but not great! one toilet was out of order and then another became 'poorly' en route, before this happened it was pretty gross in there, and to make matters worse the crew were using it to empty and clean out the tea/coffee pots...very nice! So there was one loo at the front section...where the cabin crew sit, and one member of crew did not want passengers using it! That got sorted though.
Used call button once, and it remained on for over an hour, with no one willing to see what I wanted.
It took 20 mins to get off as the stairs didn't fit the plane...
We arrived 5 hours late and then the best was to come!
The baggage got stuck in the metal bin that its loaded in. they couldn't get the bin off the plane, and couldn't open it either. Over 2 hours later, with VERY irate passengers being given no news, no explanations and no apologies we finally were re united with out baggage. Onur Air???? Onur bike!
Gave a 10/10 for comfort because of the return flight...comfort on outward flight...nil
Date of Travel: Aug 2007 Flying from: Leeds Bradford Airport Flying to: Dalaman Airport Class: Charter/Package Recommended: Yes Submitted By: Not Specified Comments: Reading the views before departure on this website I nearly cancelled our holiday as I was so scared. In reality the flights were only delayed on return by 2hrs,the plane was new and clean. The staff were obsessed with safety-the safety video was in English. The food was no better or worse than any other airline- all soft drinks were free and you could have as many as you liked. The landings were excellent in both directions and I have had some "dodgy" landings at Leeds/Bradford with other airlines -I write this review so that if you are travelling with ONUR air soon just judge them for yourself and dont scare yourself to death as I did before flying.
Date of Travel: Aug 2007 Flying from: London Gatwick Airport Flying to: Antalya International Airport Class: Economy Recommended: Yes Submitted By: Dorina Comments: I definitely recommend this airline the leg room on their planes are far better than my travel or any other European flight I have ever been on. The outbound flight the plane was 2 4 2 seating and inbound was even bigger 3 3 3 seating. The food was ok and contrary to what I have read it was not Turkish.
The crew spoke very limited English but enough to be able to communicate with them. They were also very friendly too. My child was sick on the inbound journey and they were very helpful. The food was included and there was also soft drinks provided with the meal and wine was only £2.00 for a small bottle. Plane was very clean.
Although when we reached the boarding gate we were delayed by 1 hour they allowed you to go back into the departure lounge if you preferred. We flew to and from Antalya airport, please be warned the departure lounge is very expensive to eat and drink in. A gin and tonic was priced at £5.60 for the gin and £2.80 for the tonic.

Date of Travel: Aug 2007 Flying from: Glasgow International Airport Flying to: Dalaman Airport Class: Economy Recommended: No Submitted By: David Murray Comments: Do not use this airline unless you have very very low expectations of what customer service and courtesy are all about. 1 hour delay going out with no explanation or apology and a 13 hour delay on return again with no information or apology from anyone.
Cabin crew mainly females caked with makeup who seemed afraid to smile in case their faces cracked. Food and drinks were thrust at you as if they were doing you a favour.
On our return flight everyone was told when boarding that it was free seating and just to sit wherever you want which resulted in chaos and mayhem as people dived for what seats they could get to try to sit together especially families. The people who were last on ended up dotted about all over the plane and some children had to sit apart from their parents. If the plane had been involved in an accident or crash the rescue services and authorities would not know where to start to identify casualties.
Pay a little bit extra and fly with a reputable airline and Not this Mickey Mouse Outfit.

Checked in advised we were delayed until 5pm, then nothing happened, we enquired at customer services - then told delayed until 11pm that night without any explanation. I had a child with me and there was a very drunken man stumbling on to the plane - they let him on !! It was all abit bizarre to be honest. We thought we had the bad look on the way out only to find we had a 5 hour delay on the way back. The air line gets top marks for been pants ! It was the equivalent of ' Faulty Towers'.
Date of Travel: Aug 2007 Flying from: Glasgow International Airport Flying to: Bodrum Airport Class: Charter/Package Recommended: Yes Submitted By: Lorraine MacLeod Comments: Flight delayed by one hour going out but on time going home, even arrived back in Glasgow 10 minutes early. Friendly staff on board with lovely meal and another round of drinks trolley free of charge. Homeward journey a bit different, with the staff pre-occupied in the duty free round after breakfast. There appeared to be a drinks trolley at front and back but missed the middle completely. Air very dry, which probably contributed to all the coughing. Very tired & thirsty, would advise to take water on board just in case. All in all, would use again but disappointed at lack of in flight entertainment.

Delayed 2 hrs going out then one engine goes, told to divert to Manchester(alot of us were not going to get back on)then he changed his mind and will continue. Then 30 mins from Antalya changes his mind and go to Istanbul. Wait four hrs for a new plane. Female staff very rude everything just seemed like an effort for them. On way back delayed one hour staff a little better and guess what? Engine goes again even my partner was terrified and he loves flying. Landing was very bumpy just glad we made it . You couldn't pay me to fly with this mob again.

Date of Travel: Jul 2007 Flying from: Cardiff Airport Flying to: Dalaman Airport Class: Charter/Package Recommended: Yes Submitted By: Jane Keevill Comments: We had a 27 hour delay with limited explanations apart from 'technical problems'. Onur have no staff in the UK and servis air seemed very dissatisfied with them. Engineers had to be flown from Turkey. When we finally boarded the flight it was very uncomfortable. We were in the back row with less leg room than most other rows and when the passenger in front reclined it was intolerable. I stood up as much as possible during the flight.
On the return flight the passenger next to me had a nose bleed. The first aid advice and treatment given by a stewardess was incorrect and would have been most uncomfortable for the patient.
Date of Travel: Jul 2007 Flying from: London Gatwick Airport Flying to: Bodrum Airport Class: Charter/Package Recommended: Yes Submitted By: Kirsti Comments: It was our first time flying with Onur Air even though we go to Turkey every year for the past 5-6 years and to me someone who really does not enjoy flying I was pleasantly surprised. The leg room was the best I have ever had. I felt really comfortable on the flight. Yes we were delayed but only by about 10 mins but no sooner had we all sat down we took off, on the way home it was the same.
The food was basic Turkish food rice and meat, with crackers/jam, a roll, salad and a white moose but all your soft/fizzy drinks tea/coffee are free for the whole flight and you can have as many as you would like! The flight crew were friendly. There is no on board entertainment but there was a screen which showed you all the places you were flying over and what speeds you were going and how high which was interesting to see.
The fags I found were really cheap we brought 400 b'n'h for £11.00. Also we brought a box of 8 pouches of backy for £7.50.
All together I really enjoyed flying with Onur Air and would be happy to fly with them again next year!!!!
Date of Travel: Jul 2007 Flying from: Glasgow International Airport Flying to: Dalaman Airport Class: Low Cost Seat Recommended: No Submitted By: D Small Comments: Flew out and had no problems however the cabin crew are very miserable and never smile.
On the way back we checked in at 02.30 for a 04.30 flight and were told we needed to go to hotel as the flight was indefinitely delayed. The hotel which we were took did not know we were arriving and had no rooms so 350 people slept all over the floor and around the pool without any luggage as this had been checked in we had no other info until we were took back to the airport at 12 we then just had to watch the boards for any info as no reps would speak to us.
We had to buy a KFC as we had not eaten now for 12 hours it was £40 for four crap burgers.
Then eventually we boarded at 5.20pm 13 hours delay without any explanation or apology.
Again the crew were miserable and when we landed they had the cheek to say we hope you enjoyed your flight and use Onur air again....as if!

No information given as to what was happening. Aircraft became intolerably hot was so unbearable. Given water if asked. Was very distressing. Would not off load passengers until problem fixed. Air crew communication very poor. When eventually taken off food served had been heated for so long it was hard and inedible. In total a night mare experience. Will never use air line again. Lost a day's holiday because of late arrival and exhaustion.

Date of Travel: Sep 2006 Flying from: Glasgow International Airport Flying to: Dalaman Airport Class: Charter/Package Recommended: No Submitted By: Lynn McGrail Comments: Awful awful awful! Ruined the end of our holiday!
Departure was supposed to be 0430 so we got to the airport for around two! Within five mins were being told we were being transferred to a hotel because our flight was indefinitely delayed. Information was lacking, nobody told us why our flight was delayed and for how long they thought it would be.
We then went to the hotel and were told we could not have rooms unless we paid...absolutely appalling had to sleep in lounge area with no air conditioning and no refreshments as we had been promised at the airport. NOBODY contacted us for 8 hours! the lack of information is was really made everyone very angry.... if we had been given a reason for our delay we may have been a bit more accepting, as it stood the staff were unhelpful and rude and treated us like we had no right to know what was going on!
Around 12pm we were taken back to airport and told to check in, we did so and around 2pm the board went back to saying indefinite delay, this caused uproar since by this point we had been waiting for 12 hours! The staff would not come out to speak to us and actually told us they had lied when they had earlier said they had an aircraft for us! They offered us 1 sandwich and a drink, this was not good enough as we still got no explanations!
Really felt for those with young children and one lady had even run out of nappies and were not getting any assistance from staff. We checked our luggage in when we first arrived and the staff would not let a man who need his diabetic insulin have his bag back or a woman who needed morphine! This was shocking, not only were we uncomfortable and irritable they were actually causing people to be in pain too!
Eventually after I think the staff realised they could not ignore us anymore they gave us a flight leaving 1720 but none of us had any confidence this was true. We did however get this flight but were aware that we took the plane of the Gatwick flight later that day, not fair for them but by this point we were beyond caring!
NEVER fly with them....I would actually cancel my whole holiday if I found out they were my airline.

Date of Travel: Sep 2005 Flying from: London Gatwick Airport Flying to: Dalaman Airport Class: Charter/Package Recommended: Yes Submitted By: Bex Comments: On the date of flying, all Onur Air flights were delayed between 1-3 hours. That’s all flights throughout the day!
A Turkish airline which was cheap, so please don't expect too much. You get what you pay for.
Food very Turkish orientated. All meals were served cold. No in-flight entertainment.
All safety messages were spoken in Turkish, very little English spoken at all by flight crew. Thus leading the majority of English speaking passengers, rushing for the safety cards to browse them.
Legroom however, was the best that I have experienced for a long time. Plenty of room, which made up for the lack of everything else. Seats were leather, the plane was clean.
For a short haul flight, it wasn't that bad, and Yes I would use them again.
